Hallo Antje,

On Dec 12. 1998, history was made in MN with the first ever invitational
showcase for Dual champions and champions with breed specific working titles.
It was called Field of Champions. The next National championship for dual titled dogs was held in Duluth in July 2000. The site for this years dual titled championship will be Nov 16th, 2001 in Columbus, OHIO. In order to be eligible for this show, a dog must have a championship in conformation and have a breed specific working title....titles recognized by the AKC.
A bit of history...at the urging of several board members of the AKC, the national field of champions was formed. This competition involves Form and Function....the "beauty" dog who uses his natural talent to perform as he was suppose to . These same AKC officials suggested that for the event to be truely national the site must rotate to different parts of the country.
This year is Ohio, next year is Colo. On the board of directors are 2 AKC Board members, and an AKC delegate among the others."
